RENEW YOUR SKIN WITH TGA-APPROVED SKINPEN PRECISION MICRONEEDLING
SkinPen Precision Microneedling
SkinPen Precision is a TGA-approved microneedling device which punctures the skin to create micro injuries. These tiny punctures stimulate tissue regeneration through a process known as collagen induction therapy (CIT). CIT improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and reduces the appearance of scars, acne scars, pigmentation and enlarged pores.
HOW DOES SKINPEN PRECISION MICRONEEDLING WORK?
Microneedling with SkinPen Precision uses medical-grade sterile needles to create controlled microinjuries to the skin’s surface. These microinjuries increase the natural healing response and encourage the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, a process called collagen induction therapy (CIT).
The process of CIT works by breaking down old and damaged strands of collagen, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin, which help improve the skin’s structure and function and improve overall appearance.

Initial SkinPen Precision microneedling results may appear subtle. After 1–2 months you should start to notice rejuvenated skin that appears younger softer and more supple. Improvements can take up to 3 months before improvements are visible, because the beneficial effects rely on the wound healing process which takes time.
Results from SkinPen Precision microneedling last on average 6–12 months. Individual results will vary depending on factors including general health, age, skin type, diet, smoking and alcohol consumption.
Optimal results are achieved through repeated treatments which produce cumulative benefits, as the skin is stimulated to produce its own natural collagen, repair and renew. It is recommended treatments are initially performed once per month for 3 months, followed by 2 maintenance treatments per year.

Before you commence SkinPen Precision microneedling, please follow the below:
Conduct a comprehensive medical consultation with a Luxury Aesthetics nurse to discuss your medical history, allergies and medications.
Do not take anti-inflammatory medications including Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, garlic, turmeric, gingko biloba or other for 1–2 weeks prior to treatment, to reduce possible risk of bruising. * Please note, make sure to check with your doctor before you stop any regular medication.
If you are not on a good skin care regime, you will be asked to commence a skin priming regime at least 2–4 weeks prior to having a SkinPen Precision treatment. This is to reduce the incidence of unwanted side effects and complications and to also assist with the healing post-treatment.

After your PRP treatment, it is important that you keep your skin hydrated. Microneedling causes a temporary increase in water loss so keeping your skin hydrated and protected during this period will assist your recovery.
For the first week after treatment, only use the skincare products your clinician provides. Avoid using any other active skincare topical products as these can interfere with healing.
For 24 hours post-treatment avoid wearing makeup.
For 72 hours post-treatment, do not apply any suncream and minimise sun exposure.
For 72 hours post-treatment, avoid swimming, strenuous exercise, spas/saunas or excessive perspiration, as excess blood flow and sweat can cause discomfort and irritation to the compromised skin.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Antihistamines can be taken the day of and up to three days post-treatment.
