UNLOCK FULLER, HEALTHIER HAIR WITH ADVANCED PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN TREATMENT
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Hair Growth
Harnessing your body’s own healing mechanisms, Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is form of PRP containing a higher concentration of growth factors and cytokines, which help promote tissue repair and regeneration. PRF leverages growth factors from your platelets, promoting cellular renewal and skin revitalisation to address the initial states of hair thinning.
NON-INVASIVE TREATMENTS
A PRF treatment begins with the extraction of blood from your arm. This blood is then treated, to separate out its platelet-rich fibrin from other blood components. The resulting concentrated product is subsequently injected and/or micro-needled using SkinPen Precision into your scalp, in the areas where hair loss has occurred.

FAQ
-
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) are small colourless cell fragments within the blood which contain hundreds of growth factor proteins and cytokines. These naturally occurring proteins work to stimulate hair follicles, promoting new hair growth and thickening the existing hair.
Please note, that people under the age of 18, pregnant and/or breastfeeding are not suitable for PRF treatments.
-
PRF is a very safe treatment with no reported side effects. However, PRF is not recommended if you are experiencing any of the following conditions:
Platelet dysfunction syndrome
Hypofibrinogenemia
Active acne
Broken skin, wounds and skin infections
Active cold sores
Anti-coagulation therapy
Malignancy (i.e. cancer)
Critical thrombocytopenia
Hemodynamically unstable
Auto-immune diseases
Sepsis
Acute/chronic infections
Chronic liver disease
-
Before proceeding with PRF, you will attend an in-person consultation with a Luxury Aesthetics nurse to assess your needs. This consultation will determine if PRF is the most effective treatment option for your concerns. If it is, you will complete a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan and be provided a quote based on your requirements.
-
Results from PRF last on average 6–12 months. Individual results will vary depending on factors including general health, age, skin type, diet, smoking and alcohol consumption.
Optimal PRP results are achieved through repeated treatments which produce cumulative benefits as the hair follicles are stimulated to renew. For best results it is recommended PRF treatments are initially performed once per month for 3 months, followed by 2 maintenance treatments per year.
If you are planning PRF for a special occasion, it is recommended to time your treatment to occur 4 months prior the occasion.
-
Before you commence PRF treatment, please follow the below:
Conduct a comprehensive medical consultation with a Luxury Aesthetics nurse to discuss your medical history, allergies and medications.
Do not take anti-inflammatory medications including Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, garlic, turmeric, gingko biloba or other for 1–2 weeks prior to treatment, to reduce possible risk of bruising. *Please note, make sure to check with your doctor before you stop any regular medication.
Limit your consumption of alcohol or smoking for at least 1 week prior to treatment.
Drink plenty of water in the 48 hours prior to treatment.
-
After your PRF treatment, it is important that you keep your skin hydrated. Microneedling causes a temporary increase in water loss so keeping your skin hydrated and protected during this period will assist your recovery.
For the first week after treatment, only use the skincare products your clinician provides.
For 72 hours post-treatment minimise sun exposure.
For 72 hours post-treatment, avoid swimming, strenuous exercise, spas/saunas or excessive perspiration, as excess blood flow and sweat can cause discomfort and irritation to the compromised skin.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Antihistamines can be taken the day of and up to three days post-treatment.

Side effects from PRF are usually minimal. The most reported potential side effects are mild discomfort, redness or swelling at the injection sites. Due to the autologous nature of this treatment, the risks of serious side effects and allergic reactions are reduced. PRF is also a safe treatment option eliminating the risk of allergic reactions or transmission of infections. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.
